Every 38 seconds heart disease takes a loved one's life.  Join the American Heart Association for the 2012 Wine Country Heart Walk on Sunday, April 1st at the Pear Valley Vineyards  to get involved in the fight against heart disease.

Registration opens: 9 am  Opening ceremony & 5k Walk/Run: 10 am

Cardiovascular diseases and stroke kill more than 831,000 Americans each year and cost the nation more than $431 billion in direct and indirect costs. The American Heart Association invests millions of dollars every year in research and has contributed to many important discoveries such as CPR, life-extending drugs, pacemakers, bypass surgery, the heart-lung machine, and surgical techniques to repair heart defects.

The Heart Walk is an annual tradition that was designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living in an environment that is fun and rewarding for the entire family. The American Heart Association is devoted to saving people from heart disease and stroke. We team up with millions of volunteers to fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies, and provide lifesaving tools and information to prevent and treat these diseases. 

There is no fee to participate. The goal this year is to raise $44,000 to support the AHA's lifesaving research and educational programs.
